Lionel Messi Biography (from zero to hero)

Messi Lionel was born in Rosario in Argentina. His father was factory worker and mother a cleaner. His family comes from Ancona (Italy). Lionel has two brothers and a sister. He started playing soccer for a local club coached by his father, Grandoli and in 1995 he changed team and started playing for Newell’s old boys.

When he had 11 years old, he was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency. At that time River Plate (Primera division) was interested to invite him, but the club didn’t have money to spend for his treatment, because it was too expensive, 900$ per month.
One day, sporting director of Barcelona, noticed him and recognized his talent. Father arrange him a trial in Barcelona and the club was interested in him after watching him play. After that whole family moved in Europe and Messi Lionel started to play in Barcelona’s youth team.

After two years playing in Barcelona youth squad he was taken to the B squad where Messi Lionel started to attract attention with his magic motions and goals. In that time he managed an extraordinary 35 goals in 30 matches, so in 2004 he played for the first time in the senior squad – he has only 17 years and 3 months. He didn’t play a lot, but in May 2005 he scored his first official goal and became the youngest player to ever score a game for Barcelona.
Gradually, when he earned more and more experiences he establish himself in the first team. He rose whole stadium on the feet, once when he Barcelona played against Udinese in the UEFA Championship League on Nou Camp – he single-handedly won the match.
From that moment he became regular In Barcelona’s first squad. After several injures he came back in full force in 2006/2007 season. The most memorable match that made him the Star was the El Clasico duel on March 10th 2007, where Barcelona beat Real Madrid on Nou Camp.
Messi Lionel will stay long time in memories of Barcelona’s fans and he has definitely bright future. Some people say he is next Maradona – we are looking forward to see his future progress!
